Innovation and Invention: Patents, Trademarks and Designs
May 10, 2022, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Without curiosity, there is no innovation. Join us for a seminar that takes you on a journey through the history of Australian patent submissions, trademarks and designs held by the National Archives of Australia.
Australia has long been a nation of innovators; from unique and quirky inventions to everyday items, all designed to make Aussie lives better. Get a glimpse into the inner workings of the curious and creative minds behind patents, trademarks and designs registered with the Commonwealth Patents Office. Hear from inventors in their own words as they sing the praises of their innovations in domestic appliances, farming tools, sport and technology, just to name a few!
While you’re here, take a journey through our mini-exhibition, Innovation and Invention: Patents, Trademarks and Designs and view original documents and drawings held by the National Archives of Australia, including from one of the most notable inventors of all, Thomas Edison!
